Saint’s Alley was a ground up branding project designed as an off-shoot label from Iron Root Republic Distillers. Given a concise brief of “New Orleans Gothic”, I went to work on developing the typography, illustrations of French Quarter alleys, and iconography for their proposed lineup of blended whiskey. The end result was not the brightly-colored flair of Mardi Gras, but harkened to darker Pirate Port days and the modern reimagining of the whiskey and rum that would be smuggled in the night. Combining the Gothic aesthetic with a Premium feel produced an incredible brand that the client, their investors, and their distributors, were all pleased with.
